Life in the last 3 Weeks

Ok, I know its been FOREVER since I last posted but its harder than I thought to get downstairs to the computer. ONce the laptop gets fixed then things will be back to normal and posts will happen more often. Here are some highlights of the past 3 weeks.

* McKenzie smiled for the 1st time when my Daddy, her Papa gave her a kiss.
* She lost her umbilical cord at 13 days
*Spit up is not something I am afraid of anymore ... it happens on a regular basis
* Breastfeeding is awesome for both of us. She's gaining weight and I'm loosing it. McKenzie is over 8 lbs now and Ive lost 20!
* Staying at home is boring. I love being with my girl but I get so BORED inside the house
* Last weekend we made our 1st trips to the mall and out to eat (yummy Longhorn)
* McKenzie's 1st outing was to her Daddy's softball game, she will be a baseball girl!
* We went to church for the 1st time last weekend
* McKenzie's 1st real bath was last weekend, she doesn't really like it though
* I didn't know little girls peed when you take off the diaper until McKenzie was born. She loves to pee when I don't have a diaper ready
* Thank you cards take forever to write, but I'm almost done
* I love Jason more than I thought possible. He is so great with McKenzie
* McKenzie slept almost 5 hours last night, hopefully that trend will continue
* Passifiers are amazing!
* I don't like pumping

Anyways, those are the highlights. Here are a few chosen pictures for you to enjoy. I'm working on a page just of pictures since there are so many of my little baby!
McKenzie loves the headbands her Nana made for her.

She's so Wonderful!

I LOVE my McKenzie Ann! I love everything about her. I've been pooped and peed on, she's spit up on a couple of super cute outfits and I'm having feeding issues ... but I still LOVE everything about her! Yesterday she had on an "I love Mommy" onesie and I was going to take a picture with her in it but she pooped on it and me. Then she spit up so here is what I managed to take a picture of her in. She's 10 days old.

Easter

McKenzie's 1st Easter was good, although it was not celebrated in the traditional Easter way. We didn't go to church (obvilously, she was only 1 week old!) but we did put her in a couple of cute outfits to take pictures. Jason's Mom and my Momma made lunch of steak, potato salad, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, and rolls. It was very yummy and I was very happy to have family to spend Easter with. Then that afternoon Momma left... I cried and McKenzie and I miss her very much! Here are a couple of pictures of McKenzie, 1 week old and on her 1st Easter!

Labor Story

So, last update I told you I'd give you the labor story ... here goes!

Well, I was due on Wednesday April 1st ... no baby. I worked on that day and then decided that I didn't want to work anymore "just in case". Thursday Momma, Ashley and I went ito Marietta to Scarlett's on the Square which is a Gone With the Wind museum and then to the mall to walk around. Still nothing. Friday we did more walking ... nothing. At this point I was getting really frustrated and very ready for my little girl to come. Saturday was beautiful and we did more walking and just hung out outside. I noticed in the afternoon I was pretty wet in my undies but I thought it might be sweat since I sat outsied all afternoon. SO we decided to wait and see. We went to 5 Guys for some burgers (I had jalepenoes on mine I was so desperate) and walked around some more before I decided we needed to go check things out at the hopspital.

We got to the hospital and they were checking my deciding if they should admit me or not, it wasn't conclusive that my water had broken, when the baby's heartbeat did a decel. Believe me it was scary. They came in and put me on oxygen, started an IV, made me change all kinds of positions, and gave me a shot of tributalin to stop contractions. So they decided to keep me and put me on pitocin. This was at about midinght. Pitocin was good, if I laid on my right side I couldn't feel any contractions and if I laid of my left I cold, but the heartrate would decel. When that continutes and it started deceling no matter which side I was laying on the doctor came in and decided a C-section would be the needed to get the baby out safely. So at 6 something I went in for my Csection and at 6:45 I had my beautiful 7lb 0.8oz baby girl named McKenzie Ann!!!

She is precious and wonderful and God has truly blessed me and my family with a little miracle!

Not Yet

Yesterday was my due date and well, there is no baby here with me. Momma has been here for over a week and Daddy and Ashley came yesterday so I'm READY!!! I decided to start my maternity leave today so that I can walk around and bounce on the exercise ball and eat spicy food to maybe get this process going! Last night we went to this place called Scalini's which is "famous" for putting women in labor. If a pregnant woman eats the eggplant parmesean then supposedly she delivers within 48 hours. The place has been in business for 30 years and over 300 babies have been delivered after this dish has been eaten. We went and I ate it and took picture so hopefully by Friday night I'll have my baby.
